This is big issue in Fishtown now. Some are happy and some are not. I am not a fancy casino girl so I doubt I would go that often when it is completed anyway. It is technically in Fishtown but it is about as close to my house as it is to Old City.
All I really care about is what it will do to the value of my house which is more of an investment to me than a “home”. I mean, I’m not going to live there forever. What about property taxes? This house is my nest egg. This is what I will bring to the table financially if I ever get married. Well that and the piece of land and two cows my daddy will give.
With me it all comes down to the money, honey.
Do you have any thoughts about casinos in this city? Will it be like a Scores or something? I am not crazy about prostitutes hookin around Delaware and Frankford Avenue.

I shouldn't have to tell you the title is a Def Leppard lyric.

I'm for the casino if it has real gambling. If it's just slots then I oppose it on grounds of lameness. I don't really live that close to where it's going in and I don't think it's going to affect my daily life.
I would imagine it would increase the value of your home, unless it becomes run down rather quickly. Then again, most people who would move to Fishtown would probably want the artsy historic aspect of the neighborhood, as opposed to a large looming gaudy casino in their backyard, so you may have a problem there. It may not decrease the value of your home, but rather make it harder to sell, which I guess boils down to the same thing.
